Prepare for life after CGS with personalized advising
At Caribbean Global School, we prioritize preparing our students for their future academic and career paths. To support this goal, all students starting in grade 10 are assigned a dedicated college advisor. The college advisor plays an essential role in guiding students through the college preparation process, helping them explore potential career interests and navigate the complexities of college applications. They provide personalized advice on selecting appropriate courses, standardized test preparation, and identifying colleges and universities that align with each student's aspirations and strengths. The college advisor also assists in organizing college visits, workshops, and informational sessions to help students make informed decisions about their post-secondary education. By offering this specialized support, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge and confidence they need to pursue higher education and achieve their long-term goals.
Prepare for University
Starting in Grade 10
Grade 10
In the first year, you'll collaborate with your dedicated school counselor to explore your interests, values, strengths, personality traits, and learning styles within the framework of Caribbean Global School's IB Curriculum. You'll delve into the IB Global Curriculum, planning how to integrate project-based learning modules with student-initiated projects to fulfill graduation requirements. Simultaneously, you'll start building your digital academic portfolio, which will document your project outcomes and later serve as a valuable asset for university applications.

Grade 11
In the second year, your counselor will guide you in identifying suitable post-secondary options and career paths. You'll generate a list of potential majors and career choices, conduct in-depth research on these options, and become familiar with application requirements and financial considerations. You'll also explore platforms like the Common Application and FAFSA to ensure you're well-prepared for the application process in Year 3.

Grade 12
In your final year, you'll finalize your list of preferred institutions, complete your essays, and refine your academic portfolio to highlight your best work. Your counselor will provide support and guidance as you complete applications, prepare for entrance exams, and conduct interviews. They will also be there to support you during the waiting period before you receive your application results.
